Are you curious about Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)? Do you want to incorporate an attachment-based approach with couples? Are you newer to couples work and looking for an effective, research-based framework to begin your journey? Join us for EFT Foundations: Attachment & Couple Dynamics, part of the EFCT Starter Series, and discover how EFT can transform the way you understand and work with couples. Couples often arrive in therapy caught in painful patterns of conflict, disconnection, and emotional reactivity that feel impossible to change. Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) offers a clear, compassionate roadmap for understanding relationship distress and helping partners reconnect through emotional safety and secure attachment. This introductory training is designed for therapists, counselors, psychologists, licensed and pre-licensed clinicians who want to deepen their understanding of relationship dynamics through the lens of attachment science and EFT. Participants will learn the foundational principles of EFT, explore how attachment styles shape adult relationships, and begin identifying the negative interaction cycles that keep couples stuck. By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to describe the core principles of EFT, explain attachment science and its relevance to adult relationships, identify attachment styles and strategies, conceptualize the pursue-withdraw cycle, differentiate between primary and secondary emotions, and understand how emotional bonding shapes relationship distress and repair. Participants will also have opportunities to “practice and play” by applying concepts to video examples of distressed couple dynamics, helping bridge theory into real clinical work. To support engagement and timely completion, participants will have 8 weeks of access to complete the training. Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate for 3 Core Asynchronous CE Hours approved by GAMFT, GSCSW, and LPCA of GA.
